Glendale is a full-service city that combines the progress of the west with the charm and heritage of the Midwest. Glendale is the perfect blend of the old and the new. You can stroll through the historic shops housed in charming century-old homes with white picket fences and visit one of downtown Glendale's more than 75 specialty and antique shops, restaurants and tea rooms. You can also visit one of Arizona's largest and most progressive shopping malls, Arrowhead Mall. Over 100 miles of bike paths and 46 community parks create an abundance of recreational opportunities for family and friends. Thunderbird Park, featuring over 1,000 acres of prime desert preserve, is a favorite for hiking, horseback riding and picnicking. Glendale's "college connection" now links four institutions of higher learning.
